Count Me In

Stand Up To Cancer continues its mission to pioneer new approaches and accelerate efforts to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in a way that benefits all patients.

Count Me In believes anyone with cancer, regardless of where they live or who they are, should be able to contribute to new discoveries and new treatments.

Both Stand Up To Cancer and Count Me In have joined forces to break down the barriers that exist, so everyone can benefit from new discoveries and treatments.

Joining Count Me In enables you to accelerate cancer research by sharing your samples, clinical information, and voice with researchers.

Right now, most clinical information is not regularly shared with the researchers who are trying to uncover new information about cancer every day, but you can help change that.

Your information will be used for transformative studies that may ultimately lead to a better understanding and faster advances in the treatment of cancer.

Adrenal & Pancreatic Cancer Survivor

Erinn has survived adrenal and pancreatic cancer, and has been cancer-free since 2018. One thing she has learned is that you have to be your own advocate. She joined Count Me In because she was not able to find people of color going through the same experience when she needed support. Count Me In made her feel seen and heard.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Patient

Roxana has been living with metastatic breast cancer since 2015. She continues to fight every day and does not let her diagnosis define her. She tries to be the voice for people in the Hispanic and Latinx community who do not speak English. Roxana joined Count Me In because they are inclusive of minority communities.

Maeve Smart

Osteosarcoma Cancer Survivor

Since her diagnosis as a teenager, Maeve has seen many surprises in her cancer journey. As an amputee, Maeve is a strong advocate for patients' access to opportunities, which has influenced her choice to major in pre-med in college and an eye for global health equity in cancer research and treatment.

Bridgette Hempstead

Breast Cancer Survivor

Bridgette, a breast cancer survivor, has found much of her inner strength from her mom who passed away from the same type of cancer. She has been involved with Count Me In since 2017, and understands the importance of patient voices and the need for better access and information about cancer clinical trials.

Joel Nowak

Cancer Thriver

Joel Nowak has had 5 cancer diagnoses over the past 14 years. He knows cancer well, and for him, it’s a part of living life. Joel has a deep understanding of the science of cancer, and helps enable patients to ask better questions, get better answers, and be the captains of their own medical care teams.
