Request for Applications Now Open for New SU2C – CRUK Translational Research Fellowship
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is now accepting applications for the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C)-Cancer Research UK Translational Research Fellowship, which will provide up to four grants for postdoctoral or clinical research fellows, each up to $315,000, over a four-year period. This grant opportunity is provided by SU2C and Cancer Research UK and is the first joint research project resulting from the collaboration between the two groups announced in 2012.

SU2C & The Farrah Fawcett Foundation Announce New HPV Translational Research Team Grant
Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and the Farrah Fawcett Foundation, along with the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), SU2C’s Scientific Partner, announced the formation of a research team dedicated to HPV-related cancers during a press event today at the AACR Annual Meeting 2014, held here April 5-9. The HPV and Anal Cancer Foundation is supporting the translational research team by making an additional gift to Stand Up To Cancer.

Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer
At last night’s Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer fundraising event, Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) Co-Founder Katie Couric recognized MasterCard as a SU2C Visionary, a small group of donors who have each contributed more than $25 million. MasterCard then announced its new commitment of $10 million to support SU2C’s innovative cancer research programs. Additionally, a new $6 million grant from The Lustgarten Foundation was announced which will be combined with funding from Cancer Research UK (CRUK) for a three-way collaborative, international pancreatic cancer dream team with SU2C.

Samuel L. Jackson Stands with SU2C and St. Baldricks
St. Baldrick’s Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) will unveil a new print and broadcast public service announcement featuring actor Samuel L. Jackson. The PSA, entitled “In Play,” is designed to increase awareness about childhood cancers and the critical importance for infants and children, and in particular teens and young adults with childhood cancers, to be treated by pediatric oncologists. Survival for teens and young adults is far greater when treated on pediatric cancer protocols.

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is now accepting applications for a Sta Op Tegen Kanker (“Stand Up To Cancer” in Dutch) Dream Team Translational Cancer Research Grant. This grant opportunity will offer up to 6 million euros (U.S. $8.25 million, at the current conversion rate) in research funding and is provided by Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and KWF Kankerbestrijding (the Dutch Cancer Society).
